I listened to a podcast put on by Soul Work for Moms the other day that had me thinking about conscious parenting. I, myself, am a big advocate for conscious parenting. I feel like hiring a doula, is a great first step in a lifetime of such parenting. Educating oneself and then thinking critically about how that might work or not work for your lifestyle is important. The podcast featured a mother & blogger by the name of Lindsay Dewald who practices a Montessori lifestyle.
Her instagram following is impressive, but what I like most about her story is that she incorporates a teaching style (one in which she is formally educated) into aspects of parenting, decorating and general living. Some might call it "minimalism," but I think she has refined how she lives. She has called it Montessori living because she has consciously planned out the environment in which her child will be raised starting with the city, home, and school. I could go on, obviously I have a mom-crush on her. I will let you listen to her conversation on Soul Work for Moms. Check out her interview and those of other crush-worthy moms on iTunes or wherever you get your podcasts.
