I am a mother to a breastfeeding boy. I find myself lucky to have had a baby who latched within minutes of birth. I am thankful that I feel comfortable enough to nurse him anywhere. I am glad that we are able to have a nursing relationship because I feel as though I am giving him more than just nutrition. We have a strong attachment, he is able to regulate to my cues quickly, and he is able to be calmed and nourished with the best natural nectar that I can give him.
Sandra Basile just wrote a piece for The Huffington Post about her breastfeeding journey.
When I first imagined breastfeeding, I thought my son would eventually adapt to a set feeding pattern, but that was not the case. I learned very quickly to follow his cues.
