This is a very important story about the real story behind infancy development as it relates to milk. Milk is a very important film currently screening across major cities and will be features on CBC's documentary channel.
Formula is being pushed by hospitals, even those that are classed as "Baby Friendly." Infant mortality rates are rising internationally. Mothers are being seduced by a product that she herself is capable of making. Public health initiatives to educate mothers are not working or are not available. The way we feed our babies is an international issue, one which Noemi Weis explores in her cross-cultural research.
I understand that not all mothers and babies are able to breastfeed. Not every situation allows for it. That being said, breast is best for all of the rest.
